Just as with AIDS and avian influenza (‘bird flu’), the latest virus alert is being hailed by some as proof that evolution is true.
Claims that the H1N1 swine flu demonstrates evolution are not the first to have been made about a virus. But although changes in viruses certainly represent change, such changes are not the sort of changes that molecules-to-man evolution requires.
